Only 2% of Amsterdams rooftop landscape are being used and only 1% of the rooftops are green, even though green roofs enlarge biodiversity, improve air quality, give isolation, and handle heavy rainfall. Plus, we could use the extra space.
In September 2016 over 800 visitors set out to discover eight mostly hidden rooftops. Hot tubs, binocular theatre shows, singer-songwriters, stunning views and Indian Summer cocktails were part of the line-up. The intimate rooftop festival Roef gives a new perspective on city life.
An sold out and awesome event (800+) with lots of inspired people, ready to create and discover more (green) rooftops. See the pictures here. The online community grew with 1000+ within a month and there was lots of media attention; like NRC, Parool, Metro, Radio 1, Pop Up City and many, many blogs.
Springtide studios was responsible for PR, communicating and promoting the festival through Facebook, all within a month. Plus helping out with production and coordinating the after movie. Roef is an initiative by WeTheCity, Heeey and Didly and together we will be working on next years Roef festival.
